Delhi plans anti-touting law

The Delhi government Monday said it was planning to bring in an anti-touting law to take stringent action against touts in view of the recent rape of two Dutch women by men posing as tourist guides in the capital.

‘In the wake of this incident (rape of two Dutch women), the government is discussing a proposal to take strong action against touts,’ Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta told reporters here.

Mehta said Delhi Police have also asked them to bring in the bill.

Two Dutch women on a world tour were repeatedly raped and robbed of their money and passports by two men posing as tourist guides.
