Two persons were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in a 33-year-old murder case.
Judge Shiv Singh Yadav awarded life term to two accused Atar Singh and Ram Naresh for the murder of Ram Saran, who was killed by the duo in April 1983, prosecution sources said.
Singh and Naresh, both residents of Shivpur Kunjarpur village under Kampil police station area, had taken the deceased on the pretext of going to a village fair and killed him over old enmity, they said, adding that his body was found the next day from a pond.
Following investigations, the charge sheet was filed on August 28 1983.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the convicts.
