Salem (TN), Aug 31, The bail plea of lottery king Santiago Martin, who controls a vast lottery empire across the country, has been adjourned to September 5 by a local court here.<\/p>\n

His bail plea, which came up before the Chief Judicial Magistrate”s court here yesterday, was adjourned to that date after the government pleader opposed it.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Martin was brought here from Vellore Jail where he is now lodged along with his relative Benjamin and both were taken back later, police said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Martin was arrested here on August 13 following a complaint by one Balaji, who had accused him of grabbing his land valued at Rs two crore. Benjamin was also arrested that day.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Coimbatore-based Martin had recently surrendered before a court in Tirupur in connection with a Rs 6.3 crore cheating case and released on conditional bail.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He has also been named as an accused in four cases being probed by CBI in Kerala relating to alleged irregularities and corruption in operation of other state lotteries.<\/p>\n
