Thane, Sep 4 With the arrest of brother-duo, Thane police have claimed to crack the case of a triple murder in a family in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi which rocked the district last week.<\/p>\n

Addressing a news conference at Bhiwandi last evening, Thane Police Commissioner K P Raghuvanshi gave details of the merciless killing and the subsequent events that led to the arrest of the accused.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said the preliminary investigations into the case revealed that the cause of murder was exhorbitant interest that the money lender victim charged from his customers which irritated them and they wanted to teach him a lesson and liquidated him with his family.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Mr Raghuvanshi gave the name of the arrested as Mohammad Rafique Khan, 25 and Mohammad Safique Khan, 30 both residents of Bhiwandi as of the victim.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The money lender Irfan Shah(32), his wife Gulista and four-year-old daughter Mohak were brutally hacked to death on August 24 in broad daylight at their residence on Bhiwandi-Kalyan road.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The police interrogated more than 100 people in connection with the murders but could not not get any break through.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Despite the absence of any clue the police worked on a theory and finally nabbed the brothers from Uttar Pradesh and have brought them to Bhiwandi the police commissioner said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said that the accused Rafique had allegedly taken a sum of Rs 1000 as loan from the victim Shah on interest.<\/p>\n

The victim had allegedly demanded Rs 500 from Rafique towards principle and interest, police said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
After couple of clashes over the money, Rafique went to the resident of the victims and attacked Shah with a knife killing him on the spot.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Victim’s wife and daughter who were also pressent at the house, were also stabbed to death by the brothers said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At the time of incident, two other children of the Shahs had gone to school and were saved the police said.<\/p>\n

Thane Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Milind Bharambhe and DCP Crime Vikram Deshmane and senior police officers from Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Shanti Nagar police station were also present at the conference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
