A Delhi court is likely to take cognisance of a charge sheet filed against Ketan Desai, former President of Medical Council of India (MCI), and five others for allegedly accepting Rupees two crore as bribe for according recognition to a private a medical college in Punjab.<\/p>\n
“Fresh charge sheet filed. The same be checked and registered. Put up the matter for cognisance of the charge sheet on October 10,” Special Judge Dharmesh Sharma said.<\/p>\n
The court took into records the charge sheet which was filed by CBI after more than a year of arrest of Desai and three others – J P Singh, Kamaljeet Singh and Sukhvinder Singh –in connection with the case of alleged graft.<\/p>\n
Besides the four accused, who were arrested by CBI on April 22 last year, the agency has arraigned two others, K A Paul and PGF Limited Chairman-cum-Managing Director N S Bhangoo as accused in its charge sheet.<\/p>\n
The charge sheet has accused Desai of accepting Rupees two crore bribe to give permission to Gyan Sagar Medical College at Patiala to induct a fresh batch of students for academic session 2010-2011 without having the requisite infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
