Hyderabad, The ongoing ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ (general strike) by lawyers of Telangana region today forced the CBI Special court to adjourn the hearing of bail pleas of former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivasa Reddy on illegal iron ore mining to September 29.<\/p>\n

With lawyers from Telangana region continuing to boycott courts at the Nampally Criminal Court complex, counsel for the accused did not turn up before the court. The judge later adjourned the hearing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
However, the CBI filed a reply opposing the bail pleas and stated that the evidences might be tampered with if the accused were granted bail.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The investigating agency also informed the court that it was needed to question the duo and others to secure more evidence in the illegal mining case.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The CBI has already filed a petition for nine-day custody of the accused. The court would take up the plea tomorrow.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On September 19, the Court sent both of them to judicial custody till October 3. The same day, the CBI, which had questioned them for six days earlier, moved a petition seeking their custody for nine days.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
They were arrested by the CBI from Bellary in Karnataka on September 5 in connection with the illegal mining in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur District.<\/p>\n
