A lower court here today awarded life imprisonment to three people for raping a 25-year-old married woman in April 2010 at Hinjewadi IT Park.<\/p>\n
Delivering the judgement, Additional Sessions Judge W K Sangale found three accused — Subhash Bhosale (30), Ganesh Kamble (26) and Ranjit Gade (25) — guilty of raping the woman and said there was sufficient evidence against them which proved their involvement in crime.<\/p>\n
The Judge said, ”Three have been found guilty of conspiracy of gang rape of the complainant under the pretext of dropping her to her destination.” The case was heard in the fast-track court as per orders of Home Minister R R Patil. Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam argued for maximum punishment to the accused narrating six circumstances including the fact that Bhosale was externed but his externment order was cancelled by the state.<\/p>\n
”This reveals the tendency of the accused, which will not change unless the iron hands of law gives them the maximum punishment possible,” Mr Nikam told the court.<\/p>\n
He also told the court that Bhosale had threatened the complainant that they would sell her in a brothel and force her to become a prostitute. He said three accused had planned the gangrape.<\/p>\n
Bhosale and Kamble had invited Gade to rape the defenceless woman which was accepted by Gade. This shows the height of their shamelessness.<\/p>\n
Mr Nikam requested the court that Gade and Kamble could not be separated from Bhosale, as they were also part of his shameless deed which was accepted by court and awarded the life imprisonment to them.<\/p>\n
