The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on an NGO’s plea for a direction to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to probe a Rs.67,000 crore purchase order by Air India for 111 aircraft.<\/p>\n
After hearing long arguments from both the petitioner and the respondent, a division bench of Acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikhri and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw said the judgment was kept reserved.<\/p>\n
The public interest litigation (PIL) was filed by the Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL) through its counsel Prashant Bhushan.<\/p>\n
The high court had earlier issued notices to the central government, Air India, the CVC, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the government auditor on CPIL’s petition.<\/p>\n
It had also asked the CVC and the auditor about action taken by them on the issues raised in the petition.<\/p>\n
