But its critics say it tries to portray the dispute over the century-old Mullaperiyar Dam, which is situated in Kerala and supplies water to Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n<p>Panic spread among the residents in four districts of Kerala recently following some earthquakes.<\/p>\n<p>Kerala has demanded the construction of a new dam, but Tamil Nadu says the old dam is safe.<\/p>\n<p>Tamil Nadu banned the film saying that the film`s Tamil version can ignite passions and cause a law and order situation in the state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The director of the film \u2018Dam 999\u2019, which has been banned in Tamil Nadu for supposedly taking a pro-Kerala stand in the Mullaperiyar dam row, Wednesday said he had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the move.
