{"id":15452,"date":"2011-12-13T13:40:57","date_gmt":"2011-12-13T08:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=15452"},"modified":"2011-12-13T13:40:57","modified_gmt":"2011-12-13T08:10:57","slug":"supreme-court-gives-bail-to-suspended-gujarat-bureaucrat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/supreme-court-gives-bail-to-suspended-gujarat-bureaucrat","title":{"rendered":"Supreme court gives bail to suspended Gujarat bureaucrat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court Tuesday granted bail to suspended Gujarat Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Pradip Sharma, who is in jail for alleged involvement in a land scam.<\/p>\n<p>An apex court bench headed by Justice Aftab Alam granted bail after Sharma filed an undertaking that he would make himself available for trial as and when called by the court.<\/p>\n<p>The court, while granting bail, directed him to furnish a bond of Rs.5 lakh.<\/p>\n<p>It directed Sharma to report to the deputy superintendent of police, CID-Crime, at Gandhinagar every Monday between 11 and 11.30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>The court said the Gujarat government was free to circulate Sharma&#8217;s photograph and other personal details to immigration authorities at airports and ports.<\/p>\n<p>The IAS officer was jailed after allegations of giving land to private companies at a concessional rate in the wake of the 2001 earthquake.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court Tuesday granted bail to suspended Gujarat Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Pradip Sharma, who is in jail for alleged involvement in a land scam.
