A special CBI court today sentenced 26 accused of the multi-crore rupee fodder scam to jail terms varying from one to five years.<\/p>\n
Along with imprisonment, the court had also slapped fine ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh on the convicted.<\/p>\n
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge G K Singh held 26 people guilty in the case related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 67.50 lakh from Sahebganj district treasury from 1991 to 1993 and 1995 to 1996.<\/p>\n
Of the convicts, ten were officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, while the rest were suppliers.<\/p>\n
