Jain has asked the home secretary and director general of police to submit a written reply to the court in four weeks. The court has asked them to explain the efforts made by the police to trace these unfortunate people,&#8221; the petitioner&#8217;s lawyer A. K. Jain told.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;About 10,000 missing complaints were lodged with the police station in the past eight years, but it seems nothing has been done by the police to trace these people,&#8221; said Jain, lawyer for Krishna Kukkar of NGO Anti-Social Activities Prevention Society.<\/p>\n<p>The NGO had filed a writ petition in the court Feb 18, accusing the state government and police of apathetic attitude in tracing these people, mostly consisting of teenaged girls and children.<\/p>\n<p>Kukkar claimed in the petition that many of those who went missing are likely to fall prey to the human trafficking gangs.<\/p>\n<p>He pleaded before the court that police do not even lodge a first information report when family members of the missing people approach the police stations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rajasthan High Court Thursday sent notices to the state&#8217;s home secretary and director general of police demanding to know their efforts to trace about 10,000 people who went missing in the past eight years in the state, a lawyer said. &#8220;The division bench of Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice N.K.
