{"id":18311,"date":"2012-03-20T15:12:34","date_gmt":"2012-03-20T09:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=18311"},"modified":"2012-03-20T15:12:34","modified_gmt":"2012-03-20T09:42:34","slug":"prohibitory-order-in-bengal-court-premises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/prohibitory-order-in-bengal-court-premises","title":{"rendered":"Prohibitory order in Bengal court premises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An order banning the assembly of five or more people has been imposed in a court premises in West Bengal where former Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Lok Sabha member Laxman Seth and two of his associates &#8211; arrested in connection with the violent incidents in Nandigram in East Midnapore district in 2007 &#8211; are to be produced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The prohibitory order under Sec 144 of the Cr.P.C. has been issued to avoid any untoward incident during the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Seth and two of his aides are to be produced before a court in Haldia today (Tuesday). We will seek further custody of the accused,&#8221; Deputy Inspector General (Operations-CID) K. Jayaraman said.<\/p>\n<p>Seth was arrested from Mumbai March 17 and brought to the CID headquarters in Kolkata March 18.<\/p>\n<p>Seth, along with Ashok Guria and Amiya Sahu, two district level leaders of the CPI-M, were arrested from a guest house in Chembur area of Mumbai March 17.
