A court here Wednesday rejected the bail application of Shahabuddin, an accused in the case of Rajasthan nurse Bhanwari Devi, who was kidnapped and murdered last year, a lawyer said.<\/p>\n
The court, however, permitted the accused to take part in his son’s wedding for three hours April 26.<\/p>\n
Shahabuddin is accused of kidnapping the nurse along with two others and then strangling her Sep 1, 2011.<\/p>\n
It is alleged that the nurse was abducted at the behest of sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna who was allegedly blackmailing Maderna on the basis of a CD showing her in a compromising position with the politician.<\/p>\n
“Shahabuddin had applied for an interim bail in the court of Judge Anoop Kumar Saxena who rejected the bail application,” said Special Public prosecutor S.S. Yadav.<\/p>\n
“The court has allowed Shahabuddin to participate in the wedding of his son for three hours,” said Yadav.<\/p>\n
The CBI has arrested 16 people including Maderna and Congress legislator from Luni, Malkhan Singh Bishnoi in the case so far.<\/p>\n
