Jammu Police have arrested five miscreants along with sharp-edged weapons from the heart of the city of this winter capital, police said.<\/p>\n
“The night patrolling party of Pacca Danga Police Station late last night incepted a group of six people in the city area,” police sources said here.<\/p>\n
They said the miscreants tried to escape on seeing the police but were apprehended after a hot chase.<\/p>\n
“Five of them were arrested but one managed to give a slip to the police,” they added.<\/p>\n
During frisking, one Chinese dagger, sword, kirch and khukhri like sharp-edged weapons were recovered from their possession.<\/p>\n
The arrested people were identified as Aakash, Chanchal Singh, Umar, Rahul while one Durga Singh alias Deepu escaped.<\/p>\n
“A case under FIR number 70\/2012 under sections 148, 149, 353 of RPC and 4\/25 Arms Act was registered against them,” police added.<\/p>\n
Police, however, said the miscreants had planned to eliminate one of their rivals while the investigations are in progress.<\/p>\n
