As the judge read out the memorandum of agreement and Rebecca received Re 1 as permanent alimony, those in court were taken aback.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One day, Rebecca called me and said she didn&#8217;t want money and would settle the issue with Re 1. She said she was self-sufficient and didn&#8217;t want people to say that she was living off her ex-husband&#8217;s money,&#8221; Uppunda S Y Kumar, Rebecca&#8217;s counsel said.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca and Robert are doctors by profession and hail from Dakshina Kannada district.
