{"id":21638,"date":"2012-07-10T14:47:17","date_gmt":"2012-07-10T09:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=21638"},"modified":"2012-07-10T14:47:17","modified_gmt":"2012-07-10T09:17:17","slug":"pinki-pramanik-gets-bail-in-rape-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/pinki-pramanik-gets-bail-in-rape-case","title":{"rendered":"Pinki Pramanik gets bail in rape case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Calcutta high court<\/strong><\/span> on Tuesday granted bail to former athlete <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Pinki Pramanik in a rape case<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Pinki was arrested on June 14 after a woman alleged that Pinki Pramanik \u00a0was actually male and that he had raped her.<\/p>\n<p>Pinki Pramanik\u2019s gender test report will be tabled in the court later in the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Pinki Pramanik, who won gold medal at the <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Doha Asian Games<\/strong><\/span>, was allegedly kept with male inmates in the jail resulting in protest by several human rights organizations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Concerned over reports of ill treatment of former athlete, the <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>National Commission for Women<\/strong><\/span> (NCW) had asked the Kolkata police for a report.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0NCW officials said the authorities have been asked to reply in a week.
