{"id":21767,"date":"2012-07-15T16:39:32","date_gmt":"2012-07-15T11:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=21767"},"modified":"2012-07-15T16:39:32","modified_gmt":"2012-07-15T11:09:32","slug":"jbt-scam-official-deposes-against-whistle-blower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/jbt-scam-official-deposes-against-whistle-blower","title":{"rendered":"JBT scam: Official deposes against whistle blower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Haryana government<\/strong><\/span> official has told a <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Delhi court<\/strong><\/span> that suspended IAS officer Sanjeev Kumar, who had exposed the JBT\u00a0scam on appointment of junior teachers in 2000 but was later made an accused, had sought to force his juniors to alter the list of successful candidates.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The JBT\u00a0scam involved the alleged illegal recruitment of over 3000 junior basic trained (JBT) teachers in Haryana with state&#8217;s erstwhile Chief Minister <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Om Prakash Chautala<\/strong><\/span>, his MLA-son Ajay Chautala, former CM&#8217;s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Vidya Dhar and 54 others facing trial here in a Delhi court. The trial was shifted here by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The accused are facing trial under various offences like forgery, cheating and fabricating fake documents under the Indian penal Code and for misuse of official position under the <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Prevention of Corruption Act\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>in JBT Scam<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The deposition against Kumar that he had been forcing his juniors to alter the list of successful candidates, was made by Shashi Mehta, who was working as district organising commissioner and had been roped in as a defence witness by another accused<span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong> Rajinder Singh Dahiya\u00a0.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Mehta told Special CBI Judge Vinod Kumar that Dahiya, who was the then district primary education officer, had confided in him that Kumar was pressurising him to prepare the list to which he did not agree.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>Dahiya had told me that Director Primary Education (Sanjeev Kumar) had pressurised him to prepare a list to which he did not agree as his conscious did not allow.
