A housewife hanged herself after being chided by husband for buying a new sari, the Chandanagar police said on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Twenty-six-year-old Y. Satyavati, purchased a sari for Rs. 1,000 on Friday hoping to pay the money in instalments. Her husband, Madhava, working as cook with a catering agency, became furious saying it was beyond his budget for the month.<\/p>\n
The cook went out after argument with his wife and returned 15 minutes later only to find Satyavati hanging from the ceiling with a sari tied around her neck.
