{"id":21777,"date":"2012-07-16T12:57:22","date_gmt":"2012-07-16T07:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=21777"},"modified":"2012-07-16T12:57:26","modified_gmt":"2012-07-16T07:27:26","slug":"illegal-drug-trials-sc-pulls-up-centre-mp-govt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/illegal-drug-trials-sc-pulls-up-centre-mp-govt","title":{"rendered":"Illegal Drug Trials: SC pulls up Centre, MP govt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the issue of <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>illegal drug trial<\/strong> <\/span>the Supreme Court has expressed its concern by saying that its &#8220;<span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>unfortunate&#8221;<\/strong> <\/span>that humans were being treated as &#8220;<span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>guinea pigs<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0A bench headed by <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Justice R M Lodha<\/strong><\/span> pulled up the Centre and the Madhya Pradesh government for not filing their response on PILs alleging large-scale illegal drug trials in the state and other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The bench said, &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>There has to be some sense of responsibilty (on the part of the government).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>Human beings are being treated as guinea pigs.
