{"id":21952,"date":"2012-07-21T17:59:35","date_gmt":"2012-07-21T12:29:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=21952"},"modified":"2012-07-21T17:59:35","modified_gmt":"2012-07-21T12:29:35","slug":"cheating-case-abhishek-verma-didnt-appear-for-recording-of-evidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/cheating-case-abhishek-verma-didnt-appear-for-recording-of-evidence","title":{"rendered":"Cheating case: Abhishek Verma didn\u2019t  appear for recording of evidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Businessman <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Abhishek Verma<\/strong><\/span> on Saturday did not appear before a Delhi court for recording of his evidence in a cheating-cum-defamation case lodged by him against his US partner as the day was fixed for his meeting with his wife in jail.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Abhishek Verma, who is in <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Tihar Jail<\/strong> <\/span>along with his Romanian wife following their arrest for allegedly bribing unknown officials to stall the government&#8221;s blacklisting proceedings of a Swiss arms firm, told the court through his counsel that he cannot appear on Saturday as this is a day, fixed for him to meet his wife in jail.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">&#8220;He (Verma) cannot come for recording of his evidence in the case as per the courts direction, as he has to meet his wife.
