{"id":22025,"date":"2012-07-25T17:39:01","date_gmt":"2012-07-25T12:09:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=22025"},"modified":"2012-07-25T17:41:18","modified_gmt":"2012-07-25T12:11:18","slug":"murder-of-paramour-woman-got-7-yrs-ri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/murder-of-paramour-woman-got-7-yrs-ri","title":{"rendered":"Murder of Paramour: Woman got 7 yrs RI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A widow has been sentenced to <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>seven years rigorous imprisonment<\/strong><\/span> by a local court for <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>murder<\/strong> <\/span>of\u00a0her paramour, a Roman catholic priest.<\/p>\n<p>District and sessions judge S Solaimalai also slapped a fine of Rs 500 on <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Stella Mary<\/strong><\/span>, in default of which she would have to undergo two years RI and another Rs 200 fine or six months Simple Imprisonment for stealing the victim&#8217;s cell phone and money after the murder.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution case was that Mary, who was staying with Selvaraj insisted that he marry her when they were staying in a guest house here on October 5, 2008.However Selvaraj, who was then working in <span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Ramanathapuram<\/strong><\/span>, refused, saying he could not do so as he was a Roman Catholic priest.<\/p>\n<p>After a heated exchange Stella Mary smashed his head against a wall, inflicting serious injuries and he died on the spot.Later after the murder\u00a0Stella Mary took away Rs 2,000 from the priest&#8217;s pocket and escaped.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A widow has been sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment by a local court for murder of\u00a0her paramour, a Roman catholic priest.
