{"id":22233,"date":"2012-08-01T17:46:30","date_gmt":"2012-08-01T12:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=22233"},"modified":"2012-08-01T17:47:29","modified_gmt":"2012-08-01T12:17:29","slug":"kokrajhar-riot-assam-government-to-submit-report-to-nhrc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/kokrajhar-riot-assam-government-to-submit-report-to-nhrc","title":{"rendered":"Kokrajhar Riot: Assam government to submit report  to NHRC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0on Wednesday said that it and would send a team to study relief and rehabilitation measures in the affected districts of <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Assam<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The NHRC issued a notice to the Assam government and sought a detailed report on the July violence in <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Kokrajhar<\/strong><\/span> district.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The Commission asked <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Assam Chief Secretary N K Das<\/strong><\/span> for a detailed report on the violence in and around Kokrajhar district of Assam within three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>An NHRC spokesperson said that the Chief Secretary has been specifically asked to inform about the arrangements made for relief and rehabilitation of the affected people and the financial assistance given to the victims.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The NHRC has also decided to send its own team to study the arrangements made by the state government for rehabilitation of the persons affected by the violence.
