{"id":22448,"date":"2012-08-09T12:09:41","date_gmt":"2012-08-09T06:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=22448"},"modified":"2012-08-09T12:09:41","modified_gmt":"2012-08-09T06:39:41","slug":"raipur-court-admits-plea-against-chhattisgarh-cm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/raipur-court-admits-plea-against-chhattisgarh-cm","title":{"rendered":"Raipur court admits plea against Chhattisgarh CM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A local court\u00a0on Wednesday\u00a0admitted a petition against <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh<\/strong><\/span> and two others in connection with land allocation to <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd (BALCO).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The petition was filed by former Minister and senior <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel<\/strong><\/span> in the Chhattisgarh district court last month.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Singh, former Chief Secretary P Joy Oommen and BALCO Chief Executive Officer Gunjan Gupta have been named in the petition filed under IPC and <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Prevention of Corruption Act<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The matter will now come up for hearing on September 22, court sources said.<\/p>\n<p>In the petition, Baghel has alleged corruption and cheating by the\u00a0Chhattisgarh administration in regularisation of land illegally occupied by BALCO in Korba which led to a loss of Rs 140 crore to the state exchequer.<\/p>\n<p>The Congress leader has accused Singh and Oommen of entering into a criminal conspiracy and causing loss to the Government in land allotment to the company.<\/p>\n<p>Source: PTI<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A local court\u00a0on Wednesday\u00a0admitted a petition against Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and two others in connection with land allocation to Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd (BALCO).
