A court here has sentenced three persons, two of them Delhi residents, to rigorous imprisonment for ten years in a case of armed robbery and violent attack on police personnel here in September 2011. Additional District and Sessions Judge Krishan Kumar sentenced Sandeeep and Randhir, both residents of Delhi, and Sandeep of Jhajjar district, to rigorous imprisonment for ten years each. Besides, the Judge has also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of the three convicts in the verdict pronounced here on Wednesday. According to the prosecution, the trio stole at gunpoint, a truck, which was laden with plastic grains and was on its way from Mumbai to Delhi on NH 8 near here on the night of September 23, 2011. On the way they exchanged fire with police party at Dharuhera, and eventually fled away leaving the truck behind. The police apprehended the trio and then put up the case in the court for trial.<\/p>\n
