In yet another incident of crime against women in the West Bengal capital, a young woman was allegedly gangraped at Chetla in southern part of the city, police said today.<\/p>\n
The woman was forced to get into a car by a group of men last evening at Chetla and taken to an undisclosed location where she was raped, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) P K Ghosh said.<\/p>\n
Ghosh said the matter was being investigated after a complaint was made with the police in this regard.<\/p>\n
A person has been detained for questioning, he said.<\/p>\n
The complaint stated that the victim was later dumped by the accused where she was taken away from.<\/p>\n
A spate of rape incidents have taken place in the city recently, including the Park Street case in which an Anglo-Indian woman was raped in a moving car by a group of five young men in last February.<\/p>\n
A senior official of the Park Street police station, the victim made the complaint, was transferred after he was accused of not taking the complaint seriously.<\/p>\n
