The CBI today asked a Delhi court to consider the testimonies of two accused-turned-approvers in the 37-year-old murder case of erstwhile Railway Minister L N Mishra, saying that their statements are important.<\/p>\n
Continuing final arguments in the case, Special Public Prosecutor N K Sharma told Additional District Judge Vinod Goel that testimonies of Vikram and Madan Mohan Srivastava alias Visheshwarananda as approvers must be taken into account because they had participated in the conspiracy to kill Mishra in 1975 and they knew the entire details of the case.<\/p>\n
The agency said these two approvers have to be considered as key witnesses of the case as they were also the members of Ananda Marga organisation which had conspired to eliminate Mishra who was hindering the release of their guru from the jail due to his infleunce over the Bihar government.<\/p>\n
“Visheshwarananda and Vikram were granted pardon by the court after they turned approvers and had agreed to disclose the true facts.<\/p>\n
“They are the persons who had participated in the conspiracy and initially they were also made accused in the case. They are the best persons who know all the details of how the things had happened. The court should take note of their statements,” said the prosecutor.<\/p>\n
The case related to L N Mishra’s assassination in a bomb blast at a function at Samastipur railway station in Bihar on January 2, 1975. He had succumbed to his injuries next day. Advocate Ranjan Dwivedi, who was 24 years old at that time, was named as an accused along with four Ananda Marga group members, one of whom has died.<\/p>\n
Apart from Dwivedi, three other accused in the case are Santoshananda Avadhuta, Sudevananda Avadhuta and Gopalji.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
