{"id":23640,"date":"2012-09-25T12:22:04","date_gmt":"2012-09-25T06:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=23640"},"modified":"2012-09-25T12:22:04","modified_gmt":"2012-09-25T06:52:04","slug":"heinous-cases-cant-be-quashed-on-grounds-of-compromise-sc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/heinous-cases-cant-be-quashed-on-grounds-of-compromise-sc","title":{"rendered":"Heinous cases can&#8217;t be quashed on grounds of compromise: SC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Criminal proceedings in heinous and serious criminal offences cannot be quashed by courts on the ground that the accused and the victim have compromised, the Supreme Court ruled today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Heinous and serious offences of mental depravity or offences like murder, rape, dacoity, etc cannot be fittingly quashed even though the victim or victim&#8217;s family and the offender have settled the dispute.
