The trial in the 2011 Delhi High Court blast case started in a special National Investigation Agency court here Monday.<\/p>\n
In the explosion outside gate number 5 of the court complex, fifteen people were killed and 79 injured on Sep 7, 2011.\u00a0On October 1 the court framed charges against Wasim Akram Malik.<\/p>\n
In the presence of special Judge H.S. Sharma, (in-camera proceedings) recorded the statement of Amir Abbas Dev, who was also earlier arrested by the National Investigation Agency for his alleged role in the case and later turned approver and was granted pardon.<\/p>\n
Dev deposed about the alleged planning by Malik and other accused, who are yet to be arrested. He apprised the court about the conspiracy hatched between the other accused. (According to the sources)<\/p>\n
Malik has been charged by the court under Section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 440 (mischief committed for causing death), 436 (mischief by explosive substance), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and under section 4 (explosion used to endanger human life) of the Explosive Substances Act.<\/p>\n
Malik, who is in judicial custody, is the first accused against whom the charges have been framed in the case.<\/p>\n
He has denied charges leveled against him. The NIA in March filed a charge sheet against six accused, including a minor. Malik and Dev were arrested in September 2011.<\/p>\n
The other accused in the case are Malik’s brother and alleged Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Junaid Akram Malik, Shakir Hussain Seikh alias Chhota Hafiz and Amir Kamal. They are on the run.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
