Mumbai police have moved an application for the custody of four suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives allegedly involved in the Aug 1 Pune blast case.<\/p>\n
In an application submitted Monday, the Anti Terrorism Squad of Mumbai police sought custody of four men, at present in the custody of Delhi Police.<\/p>\n
Two of the men, Asad Khan, 33, and Imran Khan, 31, were arrested from south Delhi Sep 26 when they reportedly came to Delhi from Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The third operative, Sayed Firoz alias Hamza, 38, was arrested Oct 1 from the Nizamuddin railway station.<\/p>\n
Asad Khan, a computer expert, was the alleged recruiter, motivator and ideologue of this IM module, which allegedly got Rs.3 lakh from mentors abroad. Asad, Imran and Feroze are in Delhi Police custody till Oct 27.<\/p>\n
The fourth accused, identified as Landge Irfan Mustafa, 30, was arrested near a bus stand in Jaipur Oct 10. He is under custody of Delhi Police till Oct 30.<\/p>\n
Mumbai police in the application told the duty magistrate Monday that the four alleged IM operatives were actively involved in the Aug 1 Pune blast.<\/p>\n
The Mumbai police application said: \u201cDuring preliminary inquiries conducted by the Special Cell of Delhi Police and the Mumbai ATS, it was revealed that the accused persons were involved in the Pune blast and were wanted in this case.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Mumbai ATS sought the custody of the four men, saying that a warrant has been issued by a Pune magisterial court Oct 20. The court will consider the application Oct 30.<\/p>\n
