A court wanted\u00a0Bangladeshi national\u00a0here in a case of cheating, forgery and illegal entry into India but was deported back before he could be chargesheeted, has been giving sleepless nights to police as they have failed to serve summons on him for past four years.<\/p>\n
Despite repeated issuance of summonses since 2008 by the court, the city police have failed to serve them to him.<\/p>\n
A case of cheating and forgery was registered against Bangladeshi citizen Abdur Rahim after he was found living here in central Delhi in August 2004 and staying illegally without valid travel documents.<\/p>\n
The case is pending before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi. The court has been issuing summons since 2008 seeking Rahim’s appearance in person or through pleader but the same could not be served on him.<\/p>\n
Recently the court has issued “fresh process against him returnable for December 21.”<\/p>\n
While Rahim’s passport showed his Indian Visa to be valid only for 15 days, the police, during a raid on his house, also recovered three old passports bearing his photographs with a different name Maksud-ur-Rehman.<\/p>\n
His father’s name and date of birth too differed from those mentioned in the first passport. Rahim was detained under the provisions of Foreigners Act at Sewa Sadan here for deportation.<\/p>\n
