{"id":25118,"date":"2012-12-21T10:49:51","date_gmt":"2012-12-21T05:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=25118"},"modified":"2012-12-21T10:49:51","modified_gmt":"2012-12-21T05:19:51","slug":"court-not-to-hear-zee-editors-plea-to-monitor-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/court-not-to-hear-zee-editors-plea-to-monitor-probe","title":{"rendered":"Court not to hear Zee editor&#8217;s plea to monitor probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Delhi, court will hear\u00a0Zee news editor Sudhir Chaudhary&#8217;s plea for monitoring the investigation into the case of alleged extortion bid lodged against the news channel by Congress MP Naveen Jindal&#8217;s firm.<\/p>\n<p>In this Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Mukesh Kumar told that he will\u00a0hear the matter\u00a0on Thursday\u00a0as there was shortage of time for hearing it on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to court, &#8220;The matter will be taken up tomorrow (December 20).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chaudhary has moved the court accusing the Delhi police of carrying out a one-sided probe into the complaint lodged against him and three others.<\/p>\n<p>Notice to Delhi Police had been issued by the\u00a0court on December 11 asking it to respond by December 19 to Chaudhary&#8217;s application filed through his counsel Vijay Aggarwal.<\/p>\n<p>In his application, Chaudhary who was recently released on bail, had sought the seizure of the call records of all phones used by Jindal and his relatives to try to get in touch with Zee group chairman Subhash Chandra.<\/p>\n<p>He has also demanded interrogation of Naveen Jindal, his brother Prithvi Jindal and uncle Sitaram Jindal.<\/p>\n<p>Chaudhury and Zee Business editor Samir Ahluwalia were arrested on November 27 on a complaint by Jindal&#8217;s firm that they had demanded\u00a0Rs.\u00a0100 crore as an advertising deal for not airing negative news against the firm in connection with the coal block allocation scandal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Delhi, court will hear\u00a0Zee news editor Sudhir Chaudhary&#8217;s plea for monitoring the investigation into the case of alleged extortion bid lodged against the news channel by Congress MP Naveen Jindal&#8217;s firm.
