{"id":2610,"date":"2009-07-22T13:05:28","date_gmt":"2009-07-22T08:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=2610"},"modified":"2009-08-13T02:01:48","modified_gmt":"2009-08-12T21:01:48","slug":"gujarat-hc-reserves-order-on-petition-against-sit-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/gujarat-hc-reserves-order-on-petition-against-sit-probe","title":{"rendered":"Gujarat HC reserves order on petition against SIT probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ahmedabad- The Gujarat High Court today reserved the order on the petition challenging post-Godhra probe by special investigation team (SIT) against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and 62 others, till July 24.<\/p>\n<p>Justice D H Waghela was hearing a petition from former BJP MLA from Lunavada, Kalubai Malivad, against the probe by Supreme Court-appointed SIT into a complaint by Zakia Jaffrey, whose husband ex-MP Ehsan Jaffrey was killed during the 2002 riots in Gulburg society along with 39 others.<\/p>\n<p>She has alleged in her complaint that Modi, his cabinet colleagues, police officials and senior bureaucrats aided the post-Godhra riots of 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Malivad&#8217;s lawyer S B Vakil today submitted that Zakia&#8217;s complaint was &#8220;vague where allegations have been made against high profile people&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He said that SC had ordered SIT to &#8220;look into&#8221; the complaint which does not empower it to conduct investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ahmedabad- The Gujarat High Court today reserved the order on the petition challenging post-Godhra probe by special investigation team (SIT) against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and 62 others, till July 24.
