{"id":26938,"date":"2013-02-23T17:37:18","date_gmt":"2013-02-23T12:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=26938"},"modified":"2013-02-23T17:37:18","modified_gmt":"2013-02-23T12:07:18","slug":"man-gets-death-sentence-for-rape-and-murder-of-minor-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/man-gets-death-sentence-for-rape-and-murder-of-minor-girl","title":{"rendered":"Man gets death sentence for rape and murder of minor girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mod-a-body-first-para\">\n<p>A man who had raped a girl has got awarded for death sentence by a district court for rape and murder of a 7 year old girl.<\/p>\n<p>District and session judge Sushma Khosla sentenced the accused Dilip Bankar after medical examinations confirmed that he was absolutely normal and in full senses at the time of commission of the offence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mod-a-body-after-first-para\">\n<p>Earlier on May 19, 2007, then district judge, Renu Sharma had awarded capital punishment to him. But his counsel moved an appeal before the high court claiming that the case should be re-examined as the &#8216;accused&#8217; was mentally unstable.<\/p>\n<p>High court accepted the plea and ordered for rehearing. The district court then ordered for a complete medical examination of the accused following the High Court order.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, doctors submitted their report before the court stating that the accused was normal, following which he was awarded capital punishment.<\/p>\n<p>On August 20, 2005, the accused abducted seven-year-old girl from Gwal Mohalla of Roshanpura and raped her. Her body was recovered from Baghmugalia on August 21, according to the police.
