The State Cabinet approved the Goa Litigation Policy formulated on the lines of the National Litigation Policy, 2010.<\/p>\n
Talking to media persons here after the Cabinet meet, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said ‘Its aim is to transform government into an efficient and responsible litigant. The policy is also based on the recognition that it is the responsibility of the government to protect the fundamental rights of citizens and those in charge of the conduct of government litigation should never forget this basic principle.’<\/p>\n
Under this policy, false pleas and technical points shall be discouraged, ensuring that correct facts and all relevant documents will be placed before the court, according to him.<\/p>\n
Cases with less than three years sentence, unless involving crime against children or women and not linked with activities of terrorism anti-national act, rape, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and such serious social crimes, should not be appealed beyond district and sessions court, according to him.<\/p>\n
In case of agitation, unless involving serious damage to public property or serious injury to official or policemen and matters of grievous nature, should not be filed in the court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
