A social activist in a letter addressed to the has sought to restrain self-styled Godman Asaram Bapu and general public from wasting water during the forthcoming Holi festival.<\/p>\n
The letter, written by Vishnu Gawli, has sought police to restrain Asaram from celebrating Holi and wasting tonnes of litres of water in Maharashtra, which has been hit by a severe drought.<\/p>\n
A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice A V Mohta has asked Gawli to file a proper public interest litigation on the issue.<\/p>\n
Gawli has sought criminal and preventive action against Asaram Bapu, who organised pre-Holi celebrations in Nagpur yesterday where lots of water was wasted. The self-styled Godman was also scheduled to organise pre-Holi celebrations in Navi Mumbai later today.<\/p>\n
