The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict on Monday on the petition filed by former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, a close aide of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, challenging the validity of the CBI decision to file two separate charge sheets in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.<\/p>\n
A bench comprising Justices P Sathasivam and B S Chauhan will decide the issue whether the CBI can file two separate charge sheets against Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin killing and Tulsi Ram Prajapati killing case.<\/p>\n
Prajapati was the only eye witness in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.<\/p>\n
According to Shah, CBI cannot file separate charge sheets as both the killings relate to the same incident.<\/p>\n
The apex court shall also decide the fate of Rajkumar, an IPS officer, who is also facing similar situation.<\/p>\n
CBI instead of filing supplementary charge sheet in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case has registered a separate FIR in the Tulsi Ram Prajapati killing case.<\/p>\n
The apex court had reserved its judgement after hearing all the parties in the case.<\/p>\n
Sohrabuddin was allegedly killed in a fake encounter by Gujarat police on November 25, 2005. Shah was the minister of state for home affairs in Gujarat cabinet at the time.<\/p>\n
Kausar Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin, was also allegedly killed after a few days by Gujarat police.<\/p>\n
Prajapati the only eye witness in the case was also found dead under mysterious circumstances.<\/p>\n
The apex court shall decide the issue whether CBI was right in registering two separate FIRs or it can only register only one FIR.<\/p>\n
Shah was represented by senior counsel Ram Jethmalani.<\/p>\n
