A writ petition in Patna High Court has been filed by the Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar\u00a0\u00a0seeking the closure of a road constructed on her land at Chandwa village in Bihar\u2019s Bhojpur district without consent here in Patna on Monday<\/p>\n
Hearing the petition, a single bench of Justice Jaynandan Singh directed Principal Secretaries of Panchayati Raj and Rural Works Departments to submit their explanations in this regard by May 6.<\/p>\n
The judge also asked the officials to tell the court about the policy of acquisition of such land. The petition was filed by Kumar through her power of attorney holder Mukti Nath Tiwari.<\/p>\n
Kumar, in her writ, alleged Ara Municipal Corporation took away the land and constructed road on it without informing her.<\/p>\n
Her father late Babu Jagjivan Ram, former Deputy Prime Minister, had purchased the land in 1961. Kumar is a Lok Sabha member from Sasaram in Bihar.<\/p>\n
