The judgement on the bail\u00a0application\u00a0of Malti alias KS Priya has been reserved by the Chhattisgarh High Court here in Bilaspur.<\/p>\n
Malti\u00a0alias KS Priya was convicted for her alleged involvement in naxal\u00a0activities.<\/p>\n
Earlier a lower court had awarded her ten years imprisonment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe single Bench of Mr Justice RS\u00a0Sharma on Thursday reserved its judgement on the bail plea of Malti,\u00a0who was arrested in 2008 for her alleged involvement in naxal\u00a0activities.”<\/p>\n
In 2006, naxal\u00a0literature and CDs were distributed at the MLA rest house in Raipur\u00a0through courier.<\/p>\n
Around two years after the incident, police had busted an urban naxal network and had arrested Malti\u00a0along with three others ~ Surendra\u00a0Kosaria, Siddharth\u00a0Sharma and Pratik\u00a0Jha\u00a0~ on 22 February, 2008 in this connection.<\/p>\n
After hearing the case, a district court had convicted Malti\u00a0and Surendra\u00a0and sentenced them to ten year in jail while two others were acquitted.<\/p>\n
Challenging the decision of the district court, Malti\u00a0later filed an appeal in the High Court along with an application for the suspension of the sentence and grant of bail.<\/p>\n
