{"id":28217,"date":"2013-05-08T15:51:55","date_gmt":"2013-05-08T10:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=28217"},"modified":"2013-05-08T15:51:55","modified_gmt":"2013-05-08T10:21:55","slug":"six-awarded-life-imprisonment-in-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/six-awarded-life-imprisonment-in-murder-case","title":{"rendered":"Six awarded life imprisonment in murder case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rigorous life imprisonment has been awarded by a court to six persons for killing a tribal man and his daughter about nine years ago in\u00a0Odisha&#8217;s Sambalpur district.<\/p>\n<p>Additional District Judge of Kuchinda, Padma Charan Das, yesterday convicted Lalit Topno, Methail Hembrum, Gaji Kujur, Ranjit Bag, Rajendra Bahala and Salim Kisan and awarded life term to them.<\/p>\n<p>According to prosecution, the incident had taken place at Ragba village in the Govindpur police station area of Sambalpur on September one, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>The accused had killed Bhimcent Hembrum and his daughter Berunica Hembrum suspecting that the father-daughter duo were causing harm to others by practising black magic.<\/p>\n<p>They killed Bhimcent with a sharp-edged weapon and threw the body after setting it on fire. They subsequently strangulated Bhimcent&#8217;s daughter Berunica.
