To grant further time to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to surrender to serve out 42 months imprisonment in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case has declined by the\u00a0Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
A vacation bench comprising Justices B S Chauhan and Dipak Misra dismissed the petition filed by two producers seeking extension of time for surrender of Sanjay Dutt on the grounds that shooting of his film is still not complete and he needed more time to complete the assignment.<\/p>\n
Dutt, who has been awarded five years imprisonment under the Arms Act, had already served 18 months. He will have to serve 42 months now.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Supreme Court had granted him four weeks to surrender.<\/p>\n
