{"id":29652,"date":"2013-08-10T17:28:48","date_gmt":"2013-08-10T11:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=29652"},"modified":"2013-08-10T17:28:48","modified_gmt":"2013-08-10T11:58:48","slug":"hc-suspends-driving-license-over-car-parking-brawl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/hc-suspends-driving-license-over-car-parking-brawl","title":{"rendered":"HC suspends driving license over car parking brawl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Awarding punishment to a man for fighting and causing grievous injuries to his neighbours over parking space, Delhi High Court has ordered the suspension of his driving license for six months.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Hima Kohli also directed the man and his three sons to pay Rs.10,000 to their neighbour&#8217;s family and deposit another Rs.10,000 with Delhi Police Welfare Society as punishment.<\/p>\n<p>Ramesh Chandra of Rohini had moved the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of a First Information Report (FIR) registered against him and his three sons for causing grievous injuries to his neighbours by attacking them with hockey sticks after a quarrel over parking space.<\/p>\n<p>The court said: &#8220;It is rather unfortunate that on a petty issue relating to a car being parked outside their residence, the petitioners (Ramesh Chandra and his sons) had taken the law in their hands.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The court quashed the FIR after an undertaking by Chandra and his sons that they &#8220;shall maintain good conduct&#8221; and not indulge in any such activities.<\/p>\n<p>The court said: &#8220;It is directed that Chandra shall surrender his driving license&#8230; which shall remain suspended for six months&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>(Source: IANS)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Awarding punishment to a man for fighting and causing grievous injuries to his neighbours over parking space, Delhi High Court has ordered the suspension of his driving license for six months.
