The\u00a0Supreme Court\u00a0on Tuesday decided to hold an in-camera hearing in the\u00a0Niira Radia\u00a0case, at Tata counsel Harish and Salve’s urging.<\/p>\n
Salve contended that the top court must hear the case in closed door proceedings to ensure that secret information is not leaked to the media. The in-camera hearing will take place on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
The court had earlier asked the government to produce records regarding the orders authorising the interception and review of conversations of corporate lobbyist Niira Radia.<\/p>\n
Salve said that the top court must satisfy itself that everything was overboard on this and suggested an in-camera hearing as in the Jain Hawala case.<\/p>\n
The government on its part opposed any plea to either make the tapes public as sought by NGO CPIL or segregate the private from the public as demanded by\u00a0Tata Sons\u00a0chairman emeritus\u00a0Ratan Tata.
\nTata has sought separation and destruction of all personal files to ensure that they are not leaked in any way.<\/p>\n
