Murugesan, who retired in June. Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed has been the acting chief justice since then.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The president has appointed Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana, judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,&#8221; said a law ministry statement.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Ramana was appointed as a permanent judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on June 27, 2000.<\/p>\n<p>He had enrolled as an advocate in February 1983 and has practiced in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, central and state administrative tribunals and the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>He holds specialisation in constitutional, criminal, service and inter-state river laws.<\/p>\n<p>Born in an agricultural family on Aug 27, 1957 in Ponnavaram village of Andhra Pradesh&#8217;s Krishna district, Justice Ramana is also the president of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy.<\/p>\n<p>(Source: IANS)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana, a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, was Friday appointed as the chief justice of the Delhi High Court, an official statement said.
