{"id":30111,"date":"2013-09-10T10:30:56","date_gmt":"2013-09-10T05:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=30111"},"modified":"2013-09-10T10:30:56","modified_gmt":"2013-09-10T05:00:56","slug":"meghalaya-blockade-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/meghalaya-blockade-tuesday","title":{"rendered":"Meghalaya blockade from Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the pressure groups in Meghalaya announced a four-day and night blockade from Tuesday demanding permits to check illegal influx of migrants, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma described the concept of restrictions as outdated.<\/p>\n<p>The pressure groups plan to launch the agitation to demand the implementation of inner line permit (ILP) to check illegal influx into the state.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It (ILP) is no longer an effective mechanism to check influx. This is a concept which was initiated during the British rule and has outlived its efficacy.
