{"id":35214,"date":"2014-09-13T16:47:07","date_gmt":"2014-09-13T11:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=35214"},"modified":"2014-09-13T16:50:38","modified_gmt":"2014-09-13T11:20:38","slug":"worker-dies-electrocution-delhi-hc-canteen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/worker-dies-electrocution-delhi-hc-canteen","title":{"rendered":"Worker dies of electrocution at Delhi HC canteen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 25-year-old worker at a lawyers&#8217; canteen of the Delhi High Court today died allegedly due to electrocution while using a grinding machine.<\/p>\n<p>The victim has been identified as Devender from Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p>The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA), which has control over the canteen, has decided to provide financial assistance to the family of the deceased.<\/p>\n<p>A senior DHCBA member said since the canteen is operated by a contractor, he too will be asked to pay some ex-gratia to the boy&#8217;s family.<\/p>\n<p>DHCBA President Rajiv Khosla said an inspection of the canteen will be done to find out whether there was any fault on the part of the employer.<\/p>\n<p>Khosla said, &#8220;He (Devender) had been working with the grinder machine everyday and he never reported any problem.
