{"id":36048,"date":"2014-12-02T15:01:57","date_gmt":"2014-12-02T09:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=36048"},"modified":"2014-12-02T15:01:57","modified_gmt":"2014-12-02T09:31:57","slug":"court-orders-probe-allegations-corruption-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/court-orders-probe-allegations-corruption-police","title":{"rendered":"Court orders probe into allegations of corruption in police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">A <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">court <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">here today directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau to probe allegations of corruption in transfers and postings against six persons including the former <\/span><a id=\"ms__id902\" href=\"https:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=Mumbai\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium; text-decoration: underline;\">Mumbai <\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Police Commissioner M N Singh. <br id=\"ms__id903\" \/> <br id=\"ms__id904\" \/> Baban Jadhav, a retired policeman, has filed the complaint in the special ACB court. <br id=\"ms__id905\" \/> <br id=\"ms__id906\" \/> Jadhav&#8217;s lawyer Ashish Mehta said that in 2000 his client had submitted a complaint to the state home ministry about rampant corruption in the police department and made allegations against the then Commissioner M N Singh. <br id=\"ms__id907\" \/> <br id=\"ms__id908\" \/> &#8220;Jadhav filed an RTI application and got a copy of transfer orders issued illegally and other documents which could not have been issued if the proper procedure had been followed,&#8221; said Mehta. <br id=\"ms__id909\" \/> <br id=\"ms__id910\" \/> The ministry, Mehta said, permitted Jadhav to file a complaint against the officers. <br id=\"ms__id911\" \/> <br id=\"ms__id912\" \/> After he filed the complaint, some cases were filed against Jadhav himself.
