The magistrate&#8217;s court, which granted the bail, had said Mehta should submit his passport and not leave the country without the court&#8217;s permission. Justice M L Tahaliyani has now directed that Mehta should intimate the ED before leaving the country. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The case dates back to 2002. According to ED, between 1995 and 2002 Mehta&#8217;s firm purportedly exported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=Diamonds\">diamonds <\/a>worth USD 20 million, but no money was remitted to his account. The agency registered a case against him under the (now repealed) Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA). It had got a non-bailable warrant against him from the court saying he was not complying with the summons.
