{"id":36193,"date":"2014-12-13T17:00:23","date_gmt":"2014-12-13T11:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=36193"},"modified":"2014-12-13T17:00:23","modified_gmt":"2014-12-13T11:30:23","slug":"delhi-hc-test-mtss-9-8-mbps-internet-speed-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/delhi-hc-test-mtss-9-8-mbps-internet-speed-claims","title":{"rendered":"Delhi HC to test MTS&#8217;s 9.8 Mbps internet speed claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Delhi High Court has asked Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL), which provides high speed internet under the name MTS, to bring their &#8220;equipment&#8221; on Monday to test their claim that they provide speeds upto 9.8 Mbps. <br id=\"ms__id1123\" \/><br id=\"ms__id1124\" \/> Justice Vibhu Bakhru decided to undertake the exercise as he felt that the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) was &#8220;right&#8221; in holding as &#8220;misleading&#8221; Sistema&#8217;s commercial that it provides speeds up to 9.8 Megabits per second (Mbps). <br id=\"ms__id1125\" \/><br id=\"ms__id1126\" \/> &#8220;I think they (ASCI) are right. The speed of 9.8 Mbps is available only in test conditions,&#8221; the judge said and asked the company to bring its equipment post-lunch to test its speed in the court premises. <br id=\"ms__id1127\" \/><br id=\"ms__id1128\" \/> However, as the counsel for SSTL claimed inability to come after lunch, the court posted the matter for Monday.
