he said after launching an\u00a0independent helpline for senior citizens here today.<\/p>\n<p>Parsekar, who was given guard of honour by a women&#8217;s\u00a0platoon of police department, conceded that there are some\u00a0anti-social elements in the force spoiling its reputation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to see that women power should rule the\u00a0department.\u00a0I was happy to see that the guard of honour was\u00a0given by the women&#8217;s platoon,&#8221; he said while addressing a\u00a0gathering of senior citizens and police officials.<\/p>\n<p>The helpline launched today is expected to provide\u00a0assistance to senior citizens in any emergency.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector General of Police Sunil Garg said that beat\u00a0constables would also be asked to compile a list of senior\u00a0citizens living in their areas.<\/p>\n<p>If required, senior citizens would also be provided\u00a0medical help by police control room, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The police will also help them pay their water and\u00a0electricity bills, if they are living alone, he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0today said increasing the number of women police\u00a0personnel would reduce corruption in the force.&#8221;Women are very sensitive towards people&#8217;s issues.\u00a0I\u00a0would say that the number of women in police force should be\u00a0increased so that corruption is reduced and the bad tag owned\u00a0by Goa police is removed,&#8221;
